School Meals

Free School Meal (FSM) Voucher Scheme

The county council has committed to ensuring every benefits-eligible FSM young person is able to access a FSM meal for the holidays.

To do this the council has commissioned an e-voucher scheme from Wonde. The Wonde system is proven to work well and over half of Cumbrian schools already use Wonde for other purposes.

The vouchers will have a value for each child.  The Wonde system is simple to use and after the school has provided relevant information, parents/carers are contacted directly by Wonde with their vouchers.

Please click here to see how you access your vouchers.

School Meals at South Walney Junior School

Dolce have been supplying school meals at South Walney Junior since April 2015 and they are determined to continue to offer you and your child an excellent service.  Lunchtime is more than a nutritious meal, it is an opportunity to relax and socialise. It is important to us that each and every young person enjoys their meal and has the energy to study and learn in the afternoon.

Our Cook, Jo, supported by Hannah, prepare and cook fresh meals daily specific to your child's preferences.  The ‘Choice Menu’ includes two different hot meal options, a baguette with a choice of fillings, and a jacket potato with a choice of fillings.

You can either pre-order for your child at home (in which case your child can't then change their preference) or allow your child to order themselves in class each morning.

Paying for School Meals - the Cashless way

Live Kitchen is the system used to order and pay for your child's meals.  Your account will be set up the first time your child wishes to take a meal.  You will then just need to log into your online account, click on "Account",  "Direct Debit", and follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade your account to Direct Debit payments.  Meals cost £2.45 per day, £12.25 per week and you are only charged for the meals your child takes.
